Butterfly - Eurybia lycisca
Using Reinaldo's (!) copy of the book Butterflies and Moths of Costa Rica, (I. Chacon & J. Montero, Inbio, 2007) I was easily able to identify this butterfly (LYCAENIDAE - Eurybia lycisca) that I photographed here in the garden yesterday, on Calathea lutea.
Regional botanical experts Reinaldo Aguilar and Catherine V. Bainbridge own and manage Los Charcos de Osa. LCO is a private forest reserve and native plants garden located on the Osa Peninsula, Costa Rica, in Central America.
We manage an image library of 30,000 + high resolution digital native plant images, with an emphasis on those species which occur on the Osa Peninsula. We also carry a lesser number of images depicting habitats, landscapes, regional wildlife and local people.
