Butterfly - Eunica pomona pomona
A new record for Los Charcos, Eunica pomona pomona (NYMPHALINAE). Of all the plants we have on offer, this gorgeous black and electric blue winged butterfly came visiting a cardboard box!
Regional botanical experts Reinaldo Aguilar and Catherine V. Bainbridge own and manage Los Charcos de Osa. LCO is a private forest reserve and native plants garden located on the Osa Peninsula, Costa Rica, in Central America.
We manage an image library of 30,000 + high resolution digital native plant images, with an emphasis on those species which occur on the Osa Peninsula. We also carry a lesser number of images depicting habitats, landscapes, regional wildlife and local people.
