Ananas ananassoides in flower
Reinaldo took this photo of Ananas ananassoides (Bromeliaceae), which is flowering now in the LCO native plants garden. This plant is one of what may possibly be the only two remaining individuals of this species on the entire Osa Peninsula.
Regional botanical experts Reinaldo Aguilar and Catherine V. Bainbridge own and manage Los Charcos de Osa. LCO is a private forest reserve and native plants garden located on the Osa Peninsula, Costa Rica, in Central America.
We manage an image library of 30,000 + high resolution digital native plant images, with an emphasis on those species which occur on the Osa Peninsula.
