Flowers of Bromelia plumieri
This is a gorgeous image showing the bright magenta inflorescence and dusky pink flowers of Bromelia plumieri (Bromeliaceae). This plant is known locally as “Piñuela” or “Piro”.
Regional botanical experts Reinaldo Aguilar and Catherine V. Bainbridge own and manage Los Charcos de Osa. LCO is a private forest reserve and native plants garden located on the Osa Peninsula, Costa Rica, in Central America.
We manage an image library of 30,000 + high resolution digital native plant images, with an emphasis on those species which occur on the Osa Peninsula.
