Fruits of Ananas ananassoides
This image shows the very attractive fruit of Ananas ananassoides (Bromeliaceae), which belongs to the same genus (Ananas) as the classic edible pineapple.
Regional botanical experts Reinaldo Aguilar and Catherine V. Bainbridge own and manage Los Charcos de Osa. LCO is a private forest reserve and native plants garden located on the Osa Peninsula, Costa Rica, in Central America.
We manage an image library of 30,000 + high resolution digital native plant images, with an emphasis on those species which occur on the Osa Peninsula. We also carry a lesser number of images depicting habitats, landscapes, regional wildlife and local people.
